12/14/02 IN THE STUDIO / NEW BAND NAME

OK..Sorry again for the lack of news but we have been working really hard in the studio with our new singer David, demoing new material. We currently have 13 new songs and we hope to have a CD done before our first show. We'll see what happens. We'll at least have enough recorded for maybe an EP to start with.

We are also considering a name change. We have been Seventh Veil going on 14 years with some form of the original line up and kind of feel that we have run the course and mainly to save the big soap opera story that it would take to explain about who is in, who is out, why and why not. We are really excited about the new material and see this as a new beginning as we hope you will to. It is also only fair to the hard work and dedication that Jim has given us over the past seven years to allow that chapter to be closed and not swept under the rug. We are still great friends and do not rule out the possibility of doing shows together in the future. That would be way to complicated if we continued as Seventh Veil and tried to do this. This way there will be no confusion. We will let you know soon what the new name is. We have already made a decisiion and are working on a logo now and will have a new site up in a few weeks. At that time, we will have several new demo's up for you to hear so you can see our progress. And again, thank you for your paitence and support. We love all of you! Peace from the power crib......

8/17/02 POSSIBLE LINE-UP CHANGE!....

Ok...We know it's been a while since the site has been up-dated...OK....A LONG while.....but contrary to popular belief, we did not just fall off the face of the earth.....we have spent the last six months re-evaluating our music and direction and how to get to where we want to go....After a lot of consideration and discussions, we have considered making a change at our vocal posistion... We've been together with the same line-up for over seven years and can honestly say that we have no regreats but we feel that it may possibly the best decision for the band to move forward with a different singer. There are no musical differences like most bands list as reasons, but just a combination of Jim living two hours away from where we reherse and not being able to do as much road work as we would like and have done in the past. We are still great friends and actually have written and recorded several new songs with him. We may even still do the occasional shows together. For now, after four months of intensive searching and auditions, trying out about 20 different singers with different styles and ranges, we are currently working with a singer named David Thompson. He's a great melodic vocalist, not far removed from Jim's style and has some great songwriting talents to compliment our writing style. He's originally from the Ft. Smith / Fayettville, Arknansas area whcih was a strange coincidence sine a lot of our regional touring has focused on that area. Although no definite decision has been made as of this time, we do want to make sure we are maikng the right call for everyone involved and with what's best for the band in mind. We do look forward to everyone hearing what David sounds like and we encourage your input on the material we are working on with him. For now, you can check out two of our current demos that we've done with David on the Studio Demos page. We'll be up dating and revamping the site over the next few weeks as well as adding a few more new sound clips, so drop us a line and let us know what you think of the new material.

11/12/01--New CD

We have ginally completed our studio dates for this year. We have six brand new songs recorded. 'Scream', 'Pimp', 'Spinning in the Years', 'Flyin' High', 'Laughing' and 'Life is Right Now'. At this time we plan to make this an EP with a few live tracks as well as possibly including a few fan favorites from our previous two CD's. We have about 20 other new songs in different stages of writing and demo'ing and we'll probably return to the studio sometime early next year once we pick the best of those in hopes of a new, full length CD out by next Summer. We've added a good number of new songs to our live set so expect a fresh, revitilized sound at our upcoming appearences. We'll also have so pics from the studio up soon as well.

8/11/01--Return to the metroplex

The past two weeks, we've enjoyed a return to our local stomping grounds with a show at our favorite west-side blues bar, THE CAPTAIN'S DEN and back-to-back shows at what hopes to become a new band and fan favorite club, THE JOLLY ROGER in Lake Dallas. Special thanks to our friends Larry and Carol Stedman for helping us land this awesome gig!! We plan to be doing more local shows now that our studio is finished and we plan to be debuting many new songs at the upcoming shows as well.

8/10/01--STUDIO IS FINISHED!!!!

FINALLY!!! After six months of hard work, our new studio is finished!! We'll have some pics up in the near future so you can get a glimpse of what we've been doing. This now gives us our very own rehersal and recording studio that we can use at any time. We've already been putting it to use and catching up with our writing and recording. You can check out some of our new tunes buy going to the Studio Demo's page. Drop us a line and let us know what you think.

1/21/01--New Studio & a return to Dallas

OK, it's been a while since our last update. Our apologies. We've been very busy as of late so we'll get you all caught up. We're in the process of building a new studio that should be finished around March so we'll be taking most of February off to finish that as well as finish up some demos of our new material so we can start shopping it around to labels. We currently have 4 songs recorded and working on more. We'll also be making our return to Dallas next week, Thursday, Feb. 1 at The Classic City Rock Cafe. This is our first show in over a year there so we hope to see a lot of our old friends again. Also, as you can tell by our tour dates page, The Twobuck Saloon in Tulsa, Ok. is once again back to its Rock & Roll format and things have went great our past two shows there. An awesome new owner and one of our favorite clubs now. We're booked up thru June there so to all our new friends there, we hope to see you often. And finally, as many of you know from our e-mail updates, we have been recording all of our shows as of late and do plan on releasing a CD of Live material available at our shows sometime in the near future. Thats about it, we'll try to keep you posted more often. See everyone soon.

10/8/00--Studio report and show cancellation

Just a quick note about our show next weekend in Tulsa, Ok. We were informed last week that The Twobuck Saloon has switched it's format to full time country music. Bummer. Well, to all our fans there, we will be finding another venue there soon and hope to be back in the near future.

As of late, we've been on quite a creative tear. We have 6 or 7 new originals in different stages of completion that we will be debuting at some of our upcoming shows. A few of the title's include 'UNDONE', 'LIFE', 'ALWAYS BE WITH ME', and 'MOBIGSLY'S BLUES'. We've also invested in a lot more recording equipment and will be recording all of our shows for possible future use. So make a lot of noise for us at the next show.

9/15/00--secial guest's @ SHOOTERS

Our show's last weekend at Shooter's in Ft. Smith went great and were made even better by a surprise apperance by our friends in SLOW VEIN who were on their way back from a gig in Clarksville. They sat in with us on a few songs and then took over for a short set of their own and rocked the house. Definitely a special treat for all who were there, including us. As of late, the only time we get to see each other play is if we happen to be on the same bill. We also found out that there is actually another band out there that can match us in the 'after-hours' Taco Bell "all you can eat taco's" marathon

3/27/00--ROAD REPORT FROM FT. SMITH

Well, I guess we didn't learn our lesson from our last trip up here. After vowing to take it easy this time and not get to balligerent, we fell prey to the rock & roll persona once again. Both nights we're awesome and I think we probably got about 4 hours of sleep the whole weekend after the half dozen tequila shots (each), the endless rounds of beer, the post show party at Mi-Waks and the all night playstation marathon's. (hey, it keeps us uot of too much trouble). Ft. Smith rocks though. The fans are great, the club is great and it's the only place we've been that more girls get thrown out than guys. What a town.

3/13/00--ROCKIN' WITH SLOW VEIN

As usual, both nights at the Samurai with Slow Vein we're awesome. We always have a great time playing with these guys and this was no exception. We got some great pics with them that will be posted soon.

03/06/00--NEW SEVENTH VEIL CD SOON

We are currently working on new tunes to be included on our next CD. We're also considering throwing in a cover this time. Be sure and go to our home-page and vote on the one you'd like to hear. Stay tuned for studio up-dates.

03/05/00--ON THE ROAD AGAIN

Well, picking up where we left off at the end of the old milinium, we're back on the road with lots of up-coming shows in Oklahoma and Arkansas with a few hometown dates sprinkled in. The last few shows out of town have been awesome. Especially last weekend at the ICE HOUSE in McAlister, OK. We must say, the crew there of Chris, Danny, J-Dog, Rick, Sherry and Ronnie have to be some of the best in the buisness. Also, all the staff in Ft. Smith, Becky, Wendy and the rest have made us feel right at home and last but not least, all of our new friends we've made up there. You guys ROCK!!!

10/12/99--WARRANT SHOW

Thanks to all of the new and familier faces we saw at the Warrant show. Aside from some PA problems early on in our set we could'nt have asked for a better response from everyone. We had a blast playing and hangingout with the crowd afterwards and watching Warrant kick some ass too. Also, thanks to everyone who came out Friday and Saturday at The Gusher and the Rock. Both gigs were awesome, especially Friday at the Gusher, one of our best shows in a long time!!!!

12/14/98--Trip to Midland--

Well, after driving thru the biggest blizzard to ever hit West Texas on Friday (10 inches of snow in a few hours), we finally made it to Rileys only an hour and a half before showtime...only to find the inside of the club submerged under an inch of water due to the melting snow seeping thru the roof!!!! But, being the troopers that we are, we performed our regular set as scheduled. (probably due to lack of better judgement!) But the show was a sucess and there were more people than we thought who braved the elements to come support us. THANK YOU!!!

Saturday was much better weather wise. The place was packed and we had a great time. Thanks to the guys at Rileys for working hard all day to clean up all the excess water.

Once again, we returned from there with plenty of crazy stories to tell. Be sure and ask us to share them with you sometime.....

6/01/98--BAD COMPANY/Battle of the Bands--

Well, in the end, the Oklahoma trip was a major sucess. We did get the honor of opening for the legendary Bad Company after finishing as the runner-up out of 20 other bands in the 3 week compitition. We were beat out by a local copy tune band who chose to play everyone elses hits to sway the crowd and the judges. We were really bummed at first being that we chose to showcase all original material to a new crowd but things ended up working out to our advantage after all. We would first like to extend a Big Thumbs Up to fellow Dallas area band Contortion, Ok. City's Dog Sees Ghost and the other bands in the finals who chose to do their original material. The way we see it, if you are going to have an opportunity to play in front of a crowd of 1000 to 1200 people, the last thing you should want to do is showcase other bands material, but thats just our opinion.

Once all the details were finalized, we were to play on the second stage from 8:00 - 9:00. When we arrived at around 7:00 there was at least five to six hundred people on hand already and as we kicked off our set, a steady crowd began flowing into the second room and by the end of our set we not only had the room nearly full and going nut's but had the honor of having the members of Bad Company on hand to see our set as well as the drummer from the Gap Band who was there also. We got numorous compliments from both Bad Co.'s drummer, singer Brian Howe, and Chris, their tour manager as well as a personal invitation from them to play at their aftershow autograph party for their fans. We unfortunantly had to decline the later due to previous obligations we had but we definantly appreciated the offer. Brian, their singer also requested a copy of our new disc and a contact number for the possibility of SEVENTH VEIL opening for them when they come thru Dallas later in the summer. Everyone keep your fingers crossed for us, that would be awesome. All in all, they were great guys and let me tell ya, they kicked major ass and had the crowed going crazy throughout their entire set. Do not miss them when they come through your town!

We also definantly want to extend a big "Thank You" to all the new friends we made in Lawton and we can't wait to go back there. You guys are fuckin' killer!!!

5/17/98--Oklahoma Battle of the Bands--

After a late start and vehicular malfunctions an hour into the 3 hour trip to Lawton, we finally arrived at the Diamond Back Saloon to compete in the opening round of the Band Battle for a chance to open for legendary rockers Bad Company on May 30. There was some tough compitition from other area Oklahoma bands including Dog Sees Ghost who had a strong "Rage Against the Machine" sound on a few of their originals and really got the crowd jumpin'(literally) and hardcore thrashers Monument. Hopefully you can look for both here in Dallas real soon. Don't miss them if you get a chance. We had the unfortunant prospect of having to follow both the above mentioned bands without having any kind of following there. We had only a 30 minute set to work with but the crowd responded really well and at the end of the night we were lucky enough to come out as the winners followed by Dog Sees Ghost as a close second. Now we look forward to competing with them and four other bands in the final round on May 29. We also want to say "thank's" to all the great people we met there and to the other bands that we got to hang with. We look forward to returning there on more than one occasion and we hope to see you there on the 29th.

5/11/98--RELEASE PARTY--

Hey, we just want to send out a BIG "THANK YOU" to everyone who came out and showed their support Saturday night at the Rock. The place was packed and we had a blast playing for you guys and by your response, we hope that you did as well. Special thanks also to all of you who signed up for the Scream Team, we really appreciate your support and we will continue to go out of our way to be YOUR band. Thanks also for the great comments about the new CD and the T-shirts. Be sure to check out the photo gallery page in a week or so for tons of pictures from the party.
